DENVER POST: The Colorado Avalanche have re-signed recently-acquired goalie Reto Berra to a three-year contract. Financial terms weren’t disclosed.

NBC SPORTS: Former NHLers Petr Nedved and Sami Kapanen have finally announced their respective retirements. Nedved last played in the NHL in 2007, scoring 310 goals and 717 points in 982 career NHL games with Vancouver, St. Louis, NY Rangers, Pittsburgh, Edmonton, Phoenix and Philadelphia. Kapanen last played in the NHL in 2008, finishing his NHL career with 189 goals and 458 points in 831 games with Hartford, Carolina and Philadelphia.
