LOS ANGELES TIMES: Ryan Getzlaf collected his 600th career point and his first 30-goal season as the Anaheim Ducks thumped the Florida Panthers 6-2.

THE TENNESSEAN: Nashville Predators goalie Pekka Rinne made 29 saves to shut out the Chicago Blackhawks 2-0. Predators defenseman Michael Del Zotto, meanwhile, has seen his ice time dwindle.

SPECTOR’S NOTE: It was thought Del Zotto’s game might improve when the Predators acquired him from the NY Rangers earlier this season. He’s a restricted free agent this summer and his poor performance with both clubs will hurt his bargaining power.

TWINCITIES.COM: Matt Moulson’s overtime goal lifted the Minnesota Wild for a 4-3 victory over the Detroit Red Wings.

NEWSDAY: Evgeni Nabokov made 41 saves as the New York Islanders upset the struggling Columbus Blue Jackets 2-0. The Islanders also announced the re-signing of rugged forward Eric Boulton to a one-year contract.

SPECTOR’S NOTE: The Red Wings gained a valuable point in the OT loss to the Wild, tying them with the Leafs but putting them ahead of the Leafs for the first of the two wild card berths in the Eastern Conference. The Wild’s victory helps  their efforts to clinch a playoff berth, putting them six points up on Phoenix and seven over Dallas. The Predators are now seven points out of contention.

NOTE: Games involving Canadian NHL teams are recapped in “Canadian Corner”.

TAMPA TRIBUNE: As Martin St. Louis struggles with the New York Rangers, Ryan Callahan is fitting in well with the Tampa Bay Lightning.
