STLTODAY.COM: After failing to capitalize on a breakaway in overtime, Derek Roy tallied the winner in a shootout as the Blues edged the Boston Bruins 3-2.
DENVER POST: Ryan O’Reilly’s power-play goal late in overtime lifted the Colorado Avalanche over the Phoenix Coyotes by a score of 4-3.
CSNBAYAREA.COM: Tommy Wingels and Patrick Marleau had multi-point performances as the San Jose Sharks trounced the Tampa Bay Lightning 5-1.
NJ.COM: Jaromir Jagr tied Gordie Howe with his 121st game-winning goal (18th career overtime goal) as the New Jersey Devils nipped the Los Angeles Kings 2-1 in overtime. The goal, his 690th career tally, also tied Jagr with former Pittsburgh Penguins teammate Mario Lemieux for ninth on the all time list.
SPECTOR’S NOTE: I’ve been critical of Jagr over the past year, considering him well past his prime, but early in this season he’s been playing like a man on a mission, helping the Devils to overcome a slow start.
DETROIT NEWS: Gustav Nyquist celebrated his return to the Red Wings lineup with two goals to lift his club to a 4-3 win over the Carolina Hurricanes, snapping their seven-game winless skid and their eight-game winless streak at home this season.
SPECTOR’S NOTE: The Wings will soon have to make a move to keep Nyquist in the lineup. I’ll have more later this morning in my Rumors section.
NEW YORK DAILY NEWS: Henrik Lundqvist made 41 saves (23 in the first period alone) backstopping the New York Rangers to a 3-2 win over the Dallas Stars.
PHILLY.COM: Matt Read’s two goals lifted the Philadelphia Flyers to a 4-1 win over the Buffalo Sabres.
STARTRIBUNE.COM: Minnesota Wild captain Mikko Koivu has established himself as a leader during his club’s recent 8-1-1 streak.
SPECTOR’S NOTE: The Wild have quietly established themselves among the league’s best teams during November. Koivu has played a significant role in their success thus far.
CHICAGO TRIBUNE: Blackhawks winger Bryan Bickell is sidelined at least two weeks with a left knee injury.
NBC SPORTS: The Calgary Flames traded defenseman Tim Jackman to the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for a sixth round pick in 2014.
