CHICAGO SUN-TIMES: Patrick Sharp scored the game-winner in a shootout as the Blackhawks, having squandered a two-goal lead, defeated the Florida Panthers 3-2. Panthers goalie Tim Thomas was forced from the game late in the third with an undisclosed lower-body injury.
COLUMBUS DISPATCH: Defenseman James Wisniewski had a goal and two assists (plus he vomited twice) leading the Blue Jackets to a 4-1 win over the struggling New Jersey Devils.
TWINCITIES.COM: Josh Harding got the shutout as the Minnesota Wild snapped a three-game losing skid by blanking the Nashville Predators 2-0. Wild defenseman Jonas Brodin was forced from the game after being hit on the jaw by the puck. He was sent to hospital for x-rays and his status remains unknown.
NEW YORK POST: Rangers goaltender Henrik Lundqvist is listed as day-to-day with a “minor issue” and could miss Thursday’s game against the Philadelphia Flyers.
DALLAS MORNING NEWS: The Stars welcomed back goaltender Kari Lehtonen, who missed their past five games with a groin injury. Over that period the Stars went 1-4.
SPECTOR’S NOTE: If Lehtonen wonky groin continues to flare up this season the Stars will be forced to shop for help. Keep an eye on this situation.
DETROIT NEWS: Good news for Jonathan Ericsson as his wife gave birth Sunday to their new daughter Liv. Bad news is he’s sidelined tw0-three weeks with a shoulder injury.
