LOS ANGELES TIMES: Corey Perry’s late goal lifted the Anaheim Ducks to a 4-3 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets.  The low point of the game came when Blue Jackets forward Brandon Dubinsky knocked Ducks center Saku Koivu out of the game with a high hit which could earn Dubinsky a suspension.

TBO.COM: Steven Stamkos scored the game winner in a shootout as the Tampa Bay Lightning edged the Florida Panthers 4-3.  The game had an interesting moment when Lightning defenseman Radko Gudas received a minor penalty and a game misconduct for slashing the top of the boards in front of the Panthers bench after he was squirted with water by Panthers forward Scottie Upshall.

DALLAS MORNING NEWS: Stars coach Lindy Ruff is more focused upon finding a way for his club to beat the Sabres than upon his return to Buffalo as a coach for the first time since he was fired last season by the Sabres.

NEW YORK POST: Henrik Lundqvist is set to return to action for the Rangers home opener tonight against the Montreal Canadiens.

STLTODAY.COM: Alex Steen is downplaying his hot start to this season. Steen’s ten goals puts him into a a tie with Washington’s Alexander Ovechkin for the league lead in goals-scored.

DETROIT FREE PRESS: Red Wings center Stephen Weiss is struggling to find his role with the club.

ARIZONA REPUBLIC: Phoenix Coyotes forward Martin Hanzal faces a disciplinary hearing for a high hit on Edmonton Oilers defenseman Jeff Petry.
