The Philadelphia Flyers have traded winger Kris Versteeg to the Florida Panthers for a 2012 or 2013 second round pick plus the San Jose Sharks 2012 third round pick.

SPECTOR’S NOTE: And the Flyers salary dumping continues, as their depth signings today left them with just over $1 million in cap space, and still needing to re-sign Wayne Simmonds. This clears $3 million in cap space for the Flyers. It was widely expected the Panthers would try to acquire Versteeg, as GM Dale Tallon dealt for him when he was GM of the Chicago Blackhawks. He should provide good scoring depth on their second line.
