The Pittsburgh Penguins have signed Christian Ehrhoff to a one-year, $4 million contract, while the Montreal Canadiens sign Manny Malholtra to a one-year, $850K deal.

 SPECTOR’S NOTE: Good, affordable moves for both clubs. Ehrhoff will replace the departed Matt Niskanen on a short-term deal. If he plays well the Penguins can re-sign him before next summer.

Malholtra meanwhile brings experience and faceoff skills to the Canadiens.
