The Pittsburgh Penguins have dealt forward Tyler Kennedy to the San Jose Sharks for the 50th overall pick in this year’s draft.
SPECTOR’S NOTE: Kennedy is a restricted free agent coming off a $2 million per season deal. He’s struggled since his career-best 21 goal, 45 point performance in 2010-11 and failed to grab a regular spot in the Penguins top six this season. The Penguins cannot afford to re-sign Kennedy, and with no pick in the second round were looking to move up. Kennedy should have a better chance to get back into a top-six role with the Sharks.
