Predators Sign Hillen.

NEWSDAY’s Katie Strang reports via Twitter the Nashville Predators have signed former NY Islanders defenseman Jack Hillen. Terms to follow…

SPECTOR’S NOTE: Figures, I noted Hillen in my column today that he might find it tough to land a new contract, and he gets signed. Seriously, good for him. He had a respectable 22 points with the Isles last season, and should be an affordable addition for the Predators, especially if Francis Bouillon is unable to start the season due to concussion.

**UPDATE** It’s a one-year, two-way deal worth $650K at the NHL level, which if he stays with the big club, would be a slight raise above the $525K he earned last season with the Isles

  1. Despite giving away Lombardi and Franson, Polle is at it again signing a solid and serviceable young defenceman to a very cap friendly contract. And I agree, good for Jack, he worked hard last season, put up decent numbers and was a team player. Hopefully he’s a good fit for what Nashville needs.
