The Detroit Red Wings have signed defenseman Mike Commodore to a one-year, $1 million contract.

SPECTOR’S NOTE: Commodore didn’t have a good experience at his previous two destinations (Ottawa and, more notably, Columbus), but he’s got good size and on a team like the Wings which preaches a strong puck-possession system, he could regain his form. The Wings have a long history of successful reclamation projects, and I expect Commodore will bounce back with them.
