Report: Avery on Waivers.

 Kissing Broadway goodbye?

Various sources report the New York Rangers have placed forward Sean Avery on waivers.

SPECTOR’S NOTE: It’s a possibility another club could claim Avery, but given his reputation, I’d say it’s a slim one. Looks like he could be joining Wade Redden in Hartford.

  1. As a hockey fan, I say “good riddance to that little douche.”

As a human being who agrees with his stance on equality, I hope that he decides to hang up the skates and devote his energy to far more constructive causes than doing a Morris Dance in front of Marty Brodeur during a playoff game.

  2. Hurray!

I hope the door does hit your ass on the way out Sean! Good riddance. But don’t worry, you’ll be the best dressed guy on the bus or getting a coffee at Dunkin Donuts!

Now we just have to wait for the same outcome for Cooke, Carcillo and Ruutu ( the non talented one)

  3. should of waived zuccarello and kept both avery and christensen.. zuccarello is useless outside of the skills competition plus he’s about 3’5..

  4. Zuccarello outplayed Avery and Christensen combined. He absolutely deserves a spot on the team. Singling him out for his height is a dumb reason to exclude him. Think of what the hockey world would have missed had the then powers-that-be thought the same of Marty St. Louis.

  5. Brian Gionta, Nathan Gerbe, Steve Sullivan, Brad Marchand, Derek Roy, etc…

All “small” players by NHL standards .. all good players by NHL standards.

  6. plus he has waiver protection
