NHL.com’s Dan Rosen reports via Twitter the Boston Bruins have re-signed forward Tyler Seguin to a six-year, $5.75 million per season contract.
SPECTOR’S NOTE: No surprise there, as reports since the weekend suggested the two sides were close to an extension. Seguin, 20, is currently in the final season of his entry-level contract, so his new deal won’t kick in until 2013-14. Still, it’s a considerable raise, running comparable to that which Edmonton’s Taylor Hall signed last month with the Edmonton Oilers. The Bruins also re-signed Brad Marchand to a contract extension last week, and the Seguin signing now shifts the focus to Milan Lucic and Tuukka Rask, who are also pending RFAs next summer.
