The Philadelphia Inquirer’s Sam Carchidi reports sources claim the Flyers have acquired winger Mike Knuble from the Detroit Red Wings. Details to follow.
SPECTOR’S NOTE: Rumors had been swirling this evening the Flyers were seeking a short-term, affordable replacement for winger Scott Hartnell, who is out up to eight weeks with a broken bone in his left foot. Knuble recently signed with the Red Wings as a free agent, but was playing with their AHL affiliate.
UPDATE: It’s been reported the Flyers will sign Knuble, who was on a tryout contract with the Wings, rather than via trade.

Good for Knuble! I hope he recreates some of the numbers he once had with the Flyers.
