Report: Hurricanes close to re-signing Brandon Sutter.

KUKLA’S KORNER: David Lee of the blog “red and black hockey” reports reliable sources claim the Carolina Hurricanes have agreed to terms on a contract extension with center Brandon Sutter. Details to follow.
**UPDATE** Chip Alexander of the RALEIGH NEWS & OBSERVER reports it’s a three-year deal paying Sutter $1.5 million next season, $2 million in 2012-13, and $2.7 million in 2013-14.
Spector’s note: That’s a total of $6.2 million, or an average cap hit of just over $2.06 million per season.
