ESPN.COM: Katie Strang reports the NY Islanders have re-signed forward Josh Bailey to a two-year, $2.1 million deal. Strang reports Bailey had until 7 am ET today to re-sign:

“Per Islanders team policy, any player unsigned by the start of training camp forfeits the entire season while the team retains his rights.”

SPECTOR’S NOTE: The Isles play rough, though I can’t help but wonder if that policy would apply to someone like John Tavares? Anyway, an affordable deal for the Isles, which breaks down to $1.05 million per season.

One Response to Report: Islanders re-sign Bailey.

  1. sec111 says:

1.05 per is almost a steal, word here as per Newsday is that an extension is in the works for Frans Nielsen as well, who with penalty killing and shootout quality could be another solid move. The question is do they still reach out to a dman, maybe an invite McCabe etc?
