Enstrom to remain a Jet.

The Winnipeg Jets have announced the re-signing of defenseman Tobias Enstrom to a “multi-year” extension. Details to follow…

SPECTOR’S NOTE: So much for Enstrom being a possible trade deadline/free agent target next year. Remember, folks, just because a notable player is in the final year of his contract doesn’t make him automatically available at season’s end. Anyway, Enstrom is heading into the final season of a f0ur-year deal paying him a cap hit of $3.75 million, though his actual salary for this season will be $4.5 million. His offensive numbers were down last season (33 points in 62 games), though that’s attributable to injury.

**Update** It’s a five year deal worth an average annual salary of $5.75 million. The Jets obviously wanted to keep one of their top blueliners in the fold.
