SUN-SENTINEL.COM’s Harvey Fialkov reports via Twitter the Florida Panthers have re-signed RFA defenseman Dmitry Kulikov to a two-year contract. Details to follow…

SPECTOR’S NOTE:Considering only twenty-four hours ago the two sides reportedly hadn’t spoken with each other in nearly two days, this came down very quickly. Once financial details are provided, I’ll update this post accordingly. A bit surprised by the shortness of the term. That could be by the Panthers design, preferring to use it as a “bridge contract” toward determining a longer-term deal. Kulikov will be nearing his 24th birthday when this one expires, and is coming off an entry-level deal paying him over $1.325 million in base salary plus bonuses.

**UPDATE** Kulikov’s contract is $5 million, or an annual average cap hit of $2.5 million.
