Report: Red Wings to sign Conklin.

MLIVE.COM: Ansar Khan reports the Detroit Red Wings have signed former St. Louis Blues goaltender Ty Conklin to a one-year deal worth just under $1 million. Khan claims the deal could be announced today.

SPECTOR’S NOTE: Conklin, a former Red Wing, has been linked to his former club for weeks, so it wouldn’t be surprising if he does return to replace the recently-retired Chris Osgood.

  1. Hey spector do you think the wings are done now? They still have 6 million left to work with.. Picking up another forward is unlikely but it could still happen

  2. It’s possible, but don’t expect a big name. They’re still sorting out Kris Draper’s situation, and if they don’t re-sign him, they might look around for another checking line forward.
