SPECTOR’S NOTE: Earlier today, Regehr said it would depend on the situation for him to waive his no-movement clause before the trade deadline. Looks like joining the defending Stanley Cup champions and being reunited with former Flames coach and GM Darryl Sutter was the right situation. It’s a good move for the Kings, who were in need of experienced physical depth on their blueline with Willie Mitchell and Matt Greene sidelined indefinitely by injuries. Regehr is also an unrestricted free agent this summer and is likely to be a rental player for the Kings.

  1. Two 2nd round picks for a rental? Wow

    • The standard baseline price for a veteran dman who is not a top 2 Dman but a very capable one is a 2nd + 2nd, 3rd, or 4th. There have been numerous deals over the years that have held this value.

  2. Kind of feel the kings gave up too much to get him but regehr is the player they need and I guess that’s just the cost with the trade deadline nearing. Good move but too much for a rental.
