The Buffalo Sabres have signed former Flyer forward Ville Leino to a six-year, $27 million contract, worth $4.5 million per season.
SPECTOR’S NOTE: While I admire the Sabres aggressiveness and determination to build into a Cup contender, they’ve seriously overpaid here for Leino, who was believed seeking over $3 million per season from the Flyers a few months ago. Leino’s a terrific all-round forward, but he’s not worth that kind of money unless he elevates his game under Lindy Ruff.

Wow, they gave him the Laich contract? Shit…
Insanity has officially broken out! Are you kidding me? Leino had a career high 19 goals last year! His previous NHL best was 6. These idiot general managers will be begging people to take these contracts off their hands within a year.
