Foligno shipped to Columbus for Methot.

TSN’s Bob McKenzie and the Ottawa Sun’s Bruce Garrioch report the Ottawa Senators have traded winger Nick Foligno to the Columbus Blue Jackets for defenseman Marc Methot.

SPECTOR’S NOTE: A straight-up hockey trade to address each club’s respective needs. The Senators wanted a replacement for the departed Filip Kuba, as well as make room for incoming winger Guillaume Latendresse, while the Blue Jackets wanted to add depth to their wings. Foligno was rumored to have been part of the Senators pitch for Rick Nash. Daresay they’re out of the bidding now.
