The Dallas Stars avoided salary arbitration with forward Antoine Roussel, re-signing him to a four-year deal worth $8 million.
SPECTOR’S NOTE: That’s an average cap hit of $2 million for Roussel, an undrafted player whose spent only two years in the NHL.
The 24-year-old native of France quickly made himself a valuable part of the Stars roster. He’s an energetic, physical player who loves to agitate, will drop the gloves when required and can play a regular shift and contribute on the score sheet. Last season he had 15 goals, 31 points and 209 PIMs.
If he adds a little more discipline to his game he’ll be an even more effective members of the rebuilding Stars.
