WINNIPEG FREE PRESS: New Jets center Olli Jokinen is looking forward to the upcoming season, though he has a backup plan to play for IFK Helsinki if there’s an NHL lockout. For now, he and his family are starting to feel at home in Winnipeg.

VANCOUVER PROVINCE: Winger Zack Kassian is hoping to use his being a healthy scratch in the Canucks final playoff game last spring as motivation to elevate his game this season.

EDMONTON JOURNAL: Taylor Fedun has fully recovered from a serious leg injury, but the odds appear against him cracking the Oilers lineup this season.

 MONTREAL GAZETTE: Canadiens legend Jean Beliveau yesterday celebrated his 81st birthday and is making steady progress in his recovery from the stroke he suffered earlier this year.

    Happy B-day to the Gros Bill, Had the pleasure to meet him and his legend does not do him justice. he is that great of a man. Many players today should watch video of him playing and how to behave and how to be embassadors to the game.
