White, Hunter now UFAs.

NORTHJERSEY.COM: Tim Gulitti reports defenseman Colin White and winger Trent Hunter cleared waivers earlier today, and have been officially bought out of the remainder of their contracts by the New Jersey Devils. They are now unrestricted free agents.

SPECTOR’S NOTE: It’ll be interesting to see if they get signed by another NHL club and how long that might take. I’ve heard a suggestion White might make a good fit on the Calgary Flames blueline now that they’ve traded away Robyn Regehr, but there’s been nothing to suggest Flames management have interest in him. The Winnipeg Jets are reportedly still seeking more scoring depth, so perhaps Hunter might be a fit there?
