Isles sign Boyes.

The New York Islanders have signed former Sabres winger Brad Boyes to a one-year, $1 million contract.

SPECTOR’S NOTE: Boyes stock has really dropped since his career-best 72 point season in 2008-09, and his new contract – a steep cut from the $4 million per he made on his previous deal – is indicative of that decline. Still, it’s an affordable gamble for the Islanders, who need a replacement for departed winger P.A. Parenteau.
