Winnipeg Jets forward Bryan Little changes his number in respect for a Jets legend, and a former Hab becomes a Canadiens analyst on RDS next season.

WINNIPEG JETS.

WINNIPEG FREE PRESS: Ed Tait reports Jets center Bryan Little has changed his mind and has decided, in a show of respect to Jets history, to wear number 18 next season, rather than the number 10 he wore with the Atlanta Thrashers, as that number was worn by Jets legend Dale Hawerchuk.

SPECTOR’S NOTE: Nice move by Little, though Hawerchuk said it wouldn’t have bothered him if Little had insisted on wearing Number 10. Little’s teammate, Evander Kane, is taking a different route, seeking permission of another Jets legend, Bobby Hull, to continue wearing number 9, which was Hull’s number when he played for Winnipeg.

MONTREAL CANADIENS.

LA PRESSE: Richard Labbe reports former Montreal Canadiens netminder Marc Denis will be joining RDS this fall as an Canadiens analyst, replacing Benoit Brunet. Denis played one game for the Canadiens in 20008-09, and retired following that season after 11 years in the NHL, spent mainly with the Columbus Blue Jackets.
