SPECTOR’S NOTE: Turns out Canucks GM Mike Gillis didn’t need to shop Roberto Luongo for a second line center after all. Roy, 29, is eligible for UFA status this summer and has 18 points in 29 games with the Stars. He should address their second line needs in the short-term, and if he pans out, could be an affordable re-signing in the off-season. He’s coming off a six-year, $24-million contract, but given the decline in his performance in recent years, he’s not going to get that kind of money again. After dropping their last two games, it’s apparent GM Joe Nieuwendyk is continuing the rebuild. He’s also shopping Jaromir Jagr, so stay tuned on that front
