Schneider agrees to 3-year deal with Canucks.

The Vancouver Canucks have reached an agreement in principle with goaltender Cory Schneider for a three-year, $12 million contract, worth an average annual salary of $4 million per season.

SPECTOR’S NOTE: So much for speculation the Canucks would move Roberto Luongo before re-signing Schneider. This also eliminates the worry over a potential offer sheet from a rival club for him on July 1. It’s a good deal on a reasonable term for the promising Schneider, who stands poised to become the Canucks starting goaltender next season, with or without Luongo in the lineup.
