Sarich remains a Flame.

The Calgary Flames have re-signed defenseman Cory Sarich to a two-year, $2 million per season contract. Sarich, 33, was eligible for UFA status on July 1.

SPECTOR’S NOTE: Another move which isn’t likely to sit well with most Flames fans, who’ve complained about Sarich’s lack of speed. The new deal is worth less than the $3.6 million per season he received in his last contract, but that isn’t likely to mollify his – and Feaster’s – critics.
