The Minnesota Wild have announced the re-signing of goaltender Josh Harding to a three-year contact extension. Financial terms weren’t disclosed. More details to follow….
SPECTOR’S NOTE: It was reported earlier today Harding wished to remain with the Wild, and it appears GM Chuck Fletcher has decided the best option was to stick with a goalie he knows, injury history included, rather than try to land a potential replacement via trade or free agency. Once the financial details are revealed, I’ll post them here. So, what do you think, Wild fans? Good move or not? When healthy, Harding plays very well, but it’s staying healthy that’s the issue.
**UPDATE** Harding’s new contract is worth $5.7 million, or an average annual cap hit of $1.9 million, up significantly from his $750K salary of this season, and well above the $1.2 million he earned in 2010-11.
