He's ba-a-a-ck! Get the latest on yet another attempted comeback by Peter Forsberg.

TSN.CA: reported yesterday former NHL star Peter Forsberg will take yet another step on yet another attempted comeback by playing for Sweden in the upcoming Karjala Cup starting Thursday.

CSNPHILLY.COM/PHILLY.COM: reports Philadelphia Flyers scout Ilkka Sinisalo will be heading to Sweden to watch Forsberg play in the Karjala Cup, sparking rumors of a possible return with the Flyers.

DENVER POST: Adrian Dater reports it's uncertain for now if the Colorado Avalanche might have a scout at the tournament watching Forsberg but hopes to learn more. He's also heard rumors the Washington Capitals might be interested in Forsberg.

SPECTOR'S NOTE: Seems to me we've seen this film before....oh yeah, back in 2007! Maybe Forsberg will return again to the NHL, maybe he won't. As always, it depends on his surgically reconstructed foot.

The Avs would be smart to leave their team alone when it comes to considering adding Forsberg, they are adding young kids, who are bringing enthusiasm and hardwork, it is a new generation of talent.

I don't know why Philly would want to add him at all the only teams in my opinion that make sense are Atlanta or Nashville. At least there he could get first or second line minutes. I mean lets be honest he will only play 4 or 5 games before he is out again.

It really is a shame that Forsberg was never able to cap off what would have been an incredible career. He was, in his prime, one of the best two-way players in the league. He was physical, nearly impossible to get off the puck, and this fact likely contributed to his injury troubles late in his career.

He was a great player, but his time is up.
