LA PRESSE: After blowing a 3-0 lead to the Nashville Predators, David Desharnais’ overtime goal lifted the Montreal Canadiens to a 4-3 victory. The win was overshadowed by an injury to Predators rookie Seth Jones, who was struck near his left eye by a shot in the first period and didn’t return.

TORONTO SUN: The Maple Leafs fell in a shootout 5-4 to the Detroit Red Wings.

OTTAWA CITIZEN: Antoine Vermette’s overtime goal (his third goal of the game) gave the Phoenix Coyotes a 4-3 win over the Ottawa Senators.

CALGARY SUN: Sidney Crosby had a goal and two assists as the Pittsburgh Penguins staved off a rally by the Flames to win 4-3.

EDMONTON JOURNAL: The St. Louis Blues crushed the Oilers 6-0.

WINNIPEG SUN: Michael Frolik has turned into a pleasant surprise for the Jets this season.
