WINNIPEG SUN/PITTSBURGH POST-GAZETTE: The Winnipeg Jets overcame a 2-0 deficit to defeat the Pittsburgh Penguins 4-2. The Jets got goals from Evander Kane, Dustin Byfuglien, Andrew Ladd and Blake Wheeler, while Sidney Crosby had both goals for the Penguins. Jets goaltender Ondrej Pavelec kicked out 32 shots for the victory.
VANCOUVER PROVINCE/ORANGE COUNTY REGISTER: Cory Schneider made 30 saves as the Vancouver Canucks atoned for their 7-3 home-opening loss to the Anaheim Ducks last Saturday with a 5-0 blanking of the Ducks in Anaheim. Mason Raymond scored twice while Henrik Sedin chipped in a goal and assist in the Canucks victory.
TAMPA TRIBUNE/OTTAWA CITIZEN: The Ottawa Senators blew two 2-goal leads to fall to the Tampa Bay Lightning 6-4. Ryan Malone led the way for the Lightning with 2 goals, while teammate Steven Stamkos had a three point game (1 G 2 A). Martin St. Louis and rookie Cory Conacher each picked up two assists. Kyle Turris had a goal and assist, while Daniel Alfredsson and Sergei Gonchar each had two assists for the Senators.

CALGARY SUN: Randy Sportak believes Flames coach Bob Hartley is making a mistake by scratching promising Flames forward Sven Baertschi for tonight’s “Battle of Alberta” against the Edmonton Oilers.
