Schneider backstops Canucks to win over Stars.

VANCOUVER PROVINCE: Cory Schneider overcame a puck-handling gaffe resulting in a Dallas Stars goal, backstopping the Canucks to a 2-1 victory.

CALGARY HERALD: The Flames fell in overtime again, dropping a 3-2 decision to the Minnesota Wild, a result which reportedly didn’t sit well with Flames head coach Brent Sutter, who apparently trashed a trash can following the game.

EDMONTON JOURNAL: In the battle of two goalies facing former teams, Dwayne Roloson came out on top with a 3-2 shootout win over Nikolai Khabibulin and the Oilers.

OTTAWA SUN: Goaltender Craig Anderson will return to the Senators lineup tonight against the Montreal Canadiens.

WINNIPEG SUN: The Jets should treat tonight’s game against the Washington Capitals, the team they’re trying to catch in the standings, as a playoff elimination game.

TORONTO SUN: Joffrey Lupul is the Maple Leafs nominee for the Masterton Trophy.

CANOE.CA: cited a report by Sean Simpson of The Team 1200 in Ottawa claiming sources say Patrick Roy and Bob Hartley will take over as general manager and head coach of the Montreal Canadiens at season’s end. Lots of rumors suggesting Roy will either become GM or head coach of the Habs in the off-season. To date, he’s denied these reports.
