SPORTSNET.CA: Mark Spector believes Oilers GM Steve Tambellini could be on thin ice as he’s about to make his third coaching hire in four years, and must get this one right or face losing his job.
SPECTOR’S NOTE: It’s been long rumored Sutter would be Renney’s replacement. We’ll find out hopefully in the coming weeks if that’s the case or if they’re looking at other options.
OTTAWA SUN: Don Brennan reports Senators captain Daniel Alfredsson lamented Sweden’s 4-3 elimination loss to the Czech Republic could be his last hockey game.
SPECTOR’S NOTE: That could send a slight ripple of concern through the Senators organization, which is hoping Alfredsson will return for one more season.
