POST-GAZETTE.COM: Penguins defenseman Kris Letang is sidelined indefinitely with likely concussion suffered after he was hit by Dallas Stars defenseman Eric Nystrom during Wednesday’s Penguins-Stars game.

SPECTOR’S NOTE: It’s Letang’s second concussion this season, and is not only a blow to the Penguins, but a serious threat to his health.

MLIVE.COM: Detroit Red Wings captain Nicklas Lidstrom will miss at least two games with a bad bone bruise to one of his ankles.

Neuvirth seizing opportunity to shine.

WASHINGTON POST: Capitals backup goaltender Michal Neuvirth is making the most of his opportunity this season, taking over for a struggling Tomas Vokoun.

SPECTOR’S NOTE: Inconsistent goaltending has been a problem this season for the Capitals. If Neuvirth provides more stability, that could give the Capitals more confidence down the stretch.

ARIZONA REPUBLIC: The Phoenix Coyotes 12-game unbeaten streak came to an end, falling 4-2 to the Calgary Flames.

BOSTON GLOBE: David Krejci scored a hat trick as the Bruins downed the New Jersey Devils in overtime 4-3.

BUFFALO NEWS: Ryan Miller made 39 saves on route to his second straight second, as the Sabres downed the San Jose Sharks 1-0..

NEW YORK DAILY NEWS: Marian Gaborik scored his 30th goal of the season and Martin Biron made 21 saves as the Rangers edged the Carolina Hurricanes 3-2.

COLUMBUS DISPATCH:Much-maligned goalie Steve Mason made 33 saves as the Blue Jackets defeated the Colorado Avalanche 2-0.

SLAM! SPORTS: NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman said relocation of struggling franchises like the Phoenix Coyotes is a method of last resort. He also said the league isn’t planning on expansion at this time.
