MIAMI HERALD: Tim Thomas made 32 saves and Brad Boyes scored the game-winner as the Florida Panthers rallied from a 2-0 deficit to upset the Anaheim Ducks 3-2. The win snapped a nine-game losing skid for the Panthers.
WASHINGTON POST: Alexander Ovechkin’s overtime goal lifted the Washington Capitals to a 4-3 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets.
THE BUFFALO NEWS: Ryan Miller made 43 saves as the Sabres upset the Los Angeles Kings 3-2 in a shootout.
NEWSDAY: John Tavares had a goal and an assist leading the New York Islanders to a 3-1 win over the struggling Nashville Predators.
NORTHJERSEY.COM: Ryan Carter scored twice and Martin Brodeur made 33 saves as the New Jersey Devils topped the New York Rangers 3-2.

TBO.COM: Tampa Bay Lightning star Steven Stamkos underwent successful leg surgery yesterday in Boston. It’s anticipated he’ll make a fully recovery but he isn’t expected to return until at least March.
DENVER POST: Colorado Avalanche goalie Semyon Varlamov has changed lawyers and requested his next court appearance for December 2. Varlamov faces domestic violence charges.
NATIONAL POST: Extending regular season overtime and goalie fights were subjects for discussion at Tuesday’s NHL GMs meeting. Though no changes are imminent to current league rules, discussions could continue during the next GMs meetings in March.
CHICAGO SUN-TIMES: The Blackhawks re-signed forward Andrew Shaw to a two-year, $4 million contract.
STLTODAY.COM: The Blues have signed defenseman Carlo Colaiacovo to a one-year, $550K contract.
