The Pittsburgh Penguins have acquired forward Marcel Goc from the Florida Panthers for a third and a fifth round pick.
SPECTOR’S NOTE: Penguins GM Ray Shero almost always makes a move near the trade deadline so this year was no different. He was seeking depth to his checking lines and Goc should fill that need. He’s fast and has good two-way skills, plus he’s solid in the faceoff circle.
Goc does have an injury history but the Penguins evidently believe it’s worth it. He’s a UFA at season’s end and will be an affordable playoff rental.
