Quick to get new multi-year deal.

The Los Angeles Kings today announced they’ve reached an agreement in principle with goaltender Jonathan Quick on a ten-year contract extension, which will be formally signed on July 1, and will be effective July 1, 2013.

SPECTOR’S NOTE: It’s believed Quick’s new deal will be worth $50 million, or $5 million $58 million, or $5.8 million per season average annual cap hit, meaning this deal is heavily front-loaded, and a significant raise over the $1.8 million per season on his current deal. Quick won the Conn Smythe Trophy as playoff MVP during the Kings championship run, and was a finalist for the 2012 Vezina Trophy.
