Various sources report the NY Rangers avoided salary arbitration today with forward Brandon Dubinsky, re-signing him to a four-year, $16.8 million contract, worth an average cap hit of $4.2 million per season.

SPECTOR’S NOTE: So basically everyone got what they wanted. Dubinsky gets a long-term deal at a fair salary, while the Rangers didn’t have to overpay for his services and avoid the possibility of losing him in two years time to free agency had this thing gone to arbitration.
