The Ottawa Senators have re-signed gritty forward Chris Neil to a reported three-year contract extension worth $5.75 million, in which he’s earned $2 million per season in the first two seasons, and $1.75 million in the final season. The new contract would commence in 2013-14.
SPECTOR’S NOTE: This shouldn’t be surprising. Neil is considered a valuable part of the Senators core group and obviously want to keep him around a while. His new contract pays him just over $1.9 million per season as an annual average salary, meaning he’s making pretty much the same as he’s making ($2 million) on his current contract.
