Nikolai Khabibulin is released from jail, and Carey Price and Mike Cammalleri are cover boys for a notable hockey yearbook.

EDMONTON JOURNAL: reports Oilers goalie Nikolai Khabibulin has been released from Arizona’s notorious tent city jail after serving 15 days for a drunk driving charge.

SPECTOR’S NOTE: Khabibulin is expected to be ready for Oilers training camp when it opens in mid-September. The question now for Oilers fans is, how well will Khabibulin perform this season? I don’t believe he’ll have any lingering psychological scars from his jail time which will hamper his play. I’d be more concerned about how well he can play at age 38, given his injury history.

MONTREAL GAZETTE: Mike Boone reports on the blog “Hockey Inside/Out” Carey Price is on the cover of the Quebec edition of The Hockey News yearbook, and Mike Cammalleri is on the French edition.

SPECTOR’S NOTE: Yep, it’s a slow news day for Canadian hockey news, folks.
