In today’s compilation of notable posts from the NHL blogosphere: Predictions for the Boston Bruins…Wondering what moves Brian Burke still has in store for the Leafs…Five potential free agent busts…Rangers over-relying on Lundqvist already?…A hockey video narrated by Kevin Smith and Joe Rogan.

STANLEY CUP OF CHOWDER: Bold and not-so-bold prediction for Boston Bruins this season. Among the more notable: Brad Marchand will score 30 goals, Tyler Seguin will become a fixture on the PP unit, and Nathan Horton will score 40 goals.

SPECTOR’S NOTE: After surprising everyone and winning the Cup last season, why not dream big this season?

THE HOCKEY WRITERS: ponder what other moves Maple Leafs GM Brian Burke will have in store this season, and list five potential free agent busts.

SPECTOR’S NOTE: Burke definitely isn’t done, and could make a move for a top-six forward by Christmas at the latest. As for those potential busts, I’d say Tim Connolly could be the most likely, not because he’s a lousy player, but because of his injury history.

THE RANGERS TRIBUNE: noted the Rangers were relying too much on goalie Henrik Lundqvist to bail them out in their first two games of this season, noting part of the problem was the number of penalties the club took in those games, as well as the absence of defenseman Marc Staal.

SPECTOR’S NOTE: Playing a more disciplined game will help, but perhaps they could use another experienced defenseman on the blueline, as well as play a little more responsibly overall as a team.

KUKLA’S KORNER: presents a fun hockey video, narrated by director Kevin Smith and the multi-talented Joe Rogan (warning: language not suitable for work or kids!).

SPECTOR’S NOTE: Never get tired of Samuel L. Jackson reprising his Jules Winnfield role from Pulp Fiction as a hockey coach instructing his players on the “Inglewood Jack”.
