CHICAGO TRIBUNE: The Blackhawks scored three goals in just over six minutes in the third period to down the NY Rangers 4-3.

DETROIT NEWS: Henrik Zetterberg (two goals, one assist) and Valtteri Filppula (one goal, two assists) dominated as the Red Wings rallied to defeat the LA Kings 4-3.

MIAMI HERALD: Jose Theodore made 33 saves in a losing cause as the Florida Panthers fell 2-1 in a shootout to the Pittsburgh Penguins, but the Panthers gained a valuable point to widen its lead to 3 points over Washington and Winnipeg for the Southeast Division lead.

BUFFALO NEWS: The Sabres continue to find goals hard to come by on the road, averaging over 1 1/2 goals per game, and shut out of 12 of their last 32 road games.

SPECTOR’S NOTE: If that stat doesn’t improve over their remaining games of the season, it could be what ultimately kills their playoff hopes.

Brygalov's play has improved of late.

CSNPHILLY.COM: Flyers goalie Ilya Bryzgalov’s recent hot streak over his last ten games (7 wins, 2.17 GAA, .921 SP) is finally earning him some love from the Flyers faithful.

SPECTOR’S NOTE: Looks like he’s finally found the peace in his heart to play there…;)

WASHINGTON POST: Capitals defenseman Mike Green was suspended three games for his hit on Tampa Bay Lightning forward Brett Connolly.

NBC SPORTS: Montreal Canadiens winger Erik Cole was fined $2, 500.00 for a slew-foot trip on Edmonton Oilers defenseman Jeff Petry.

TAMPA BAY TIMES: Call-up goalie Dustin Tokarski is getting his shot to audition for a full-time job next season with the Lightning, filling in for injured Mathieu Garon as the club battles to keep its playoff hopes alive.

SPECTOR’S NOTE: If Tokarski can seize this opportunity and plays well over the remaining games in the Lightning’s season, it’ll go a long way toward earning a full-time job next season in their goalie tandem, especially if he were to backstop them into a playoff berth.
