New Jersey Devils captain Zach Parise today said he needs more time to reach a decision over which offer he’ll accept. Parise told the media today he’s considering several offers and is “inching closer” to a decision, but has no deadline. He acknowledged the Devils remain in the mix.

SPECTOR’S NOTE: Parise’s “indecision” has provoked criticism from some fans and pundits impatiently awaiting which club he’ll sign with, but he’s an unrestricted free agent who’s earned the right to not only decide where he’ll play, but also to take as much time as he needs for such an important decision. Some critics complain he’s holding up other UFA signings or possible trades, but it’s not his problem those teams choose to await his decision before acting on their own.
