Oilers close to re-signing Eberle and Hall?

TSN.CA: The Edmonton Oilers are reportedly close to a contract extension with winger Taylor Hall and are in contract talks with forward Jordan Eberle. Both are entering the final year of their entry level contracts.

SPECTOR’S NOTE: Wouldn’t be surprising if both are re-signed before September 15th, the end date of the current CBA.

LA PRESSE: Montreal Canadiens defenseman Andrei Markov is seeking court action against an insurance broker he claims provided him false information regarding a policy he took out in 2007.

 SPORTSNET.CA: Former Tampa Bay Lightning defenseman Paul Ranger has signed a contract with the Toronto Marlies, the Maple Leafs farm team. Ranger has been on personal hiatus since 2009-10.
