No progress in Subban contract talks.

TVASPORTS’ L.A Lariviere took to Twitter to provide the following update on the contract talks between the Montreal Canadiens and P.K. Subban: “sources say that, merely 1 month since talks have kicked off, negotiations are going VERY slow right now”.

SPECTOR’S NOTE: As I’ve noted before, folks, some negotiations take longer than others. The Habs will eventually get Subban re-signed.

EDMONTON JOURNAL: Oilers rookie Nail Yakupov has a leg infection after falling off a fast-moving treadmill last week.

CALGARY SUN: The Flames are preparing for a lockout by informing its full time staff and contract workers they could be facing pay cuts, or given the option of take a leave of absence – without pay – with guarantees their jobs will be waiting for them whenever the lockout ends.

SPECTOR’S NOTE: It’s the team employees – not the owner, the management, coaching staff, players or fans – who’ll truly suffer in the event of a lockout.
