TORONTO SUN: Philadelphia Flyers winger Wayne Simmonds was the victim of racial taunts during a recent Czech Extra Liga game.

“After Simmonds, playing for HC Bili Tygri Liberec, fought with Chomutov’s Miroslav Zalesak in the third period, some fans started chanting the Czech word for monkey. On Monday, both teams condemned the actions of the fans. Chomutov officials sent a letter of apology to Simmonds.”

SPECTOR’S NOTE: Good to see both clubs condemn the actions of those idiotic fans, especially the Chomutov officials. There’s no place for that kind of behavior anywhere in hockey, or any sport for that matter.
