Nashville Predators goalie Pekka Rinne picked up 1st KHL victory this weekend.

FANG FACTION: noted Nashville Predators goalie Pekka Rinne won his KHL debut on Sunday, backstopping Dinamo Minsk to a 3-2 victory over Atlant.

YOUTUBE: Joe Thornton scored his first goal on Friday for HC Davos vs HC Lugano. His teammate, Rick Nash, took himself out of that game after suffering a shoulder injury, later revealed to be a bone bruise.

ESPN.COM: Pierre LeBrun reported Logan Couture faced off against Thornton (his teammate with the San Jose Sharks) on Saturday, with “Couture’s Geneva-Servette beating Jumbo Joe’s Davos club 3-0.” Couture has one assist in the two games he’s played thus far.

NJ.COM: The AHL could see a higher profile this season because of the number of locked-out NHL players performing there. Among the notables:

“Adam Henrique, Adam Larsson and Jacob Josefson of the Devils will be playing in Albany; Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Jordan Eberle of the Oilers will be playing for the Oklahoma City Barons; Capitals goalie Braden Holtby will suit up for the Hershey Bears and Flyers Brayden Schenn and Sean Couturier are among those who’ll play for the Adirondack Phantoms.”
