The Los Angeles Kings announced they’ve dealt forward Andrei Loktionov to the New Jersey Devils in exchange for a fifth round pick in 2013.
SPECTOR’S NOTE: Loktionov apparently requested a trade some time ago but news of it only recently came to light. The 22-year-old played 59 NHL games with the Kings over the past three seasons, including two post-season games during the Kings Stanley Cup run. He had 20 points in 32 games with their AHL affiliate this season, and is expected to report to the Devils AHL farm team. It’ll be interesting to see if he gets a better opportunity to play in the NHL with the Devils than he was getting with the Kings.
